Again a great crag with good rock quality without polished faces. Val Lomasone is not the closest crag,
trip from Arco or Riva del Garda to Val Lomasone takes about 50 minutes due the condition of the last part of the aproach road. But the facilities at the crag are excellent for a picnic or camping. Climbing walls are located nearby the convinient parking. There is also good camping and picnic area. Environment is nice and silent and is definitely peaceful location to spend some time after a climbing day.
Crag has a lot to offer, total of 128 routes is definitely enough. Grades of the routes starts from 4 to 8a offering a great variety of routes for all levels of climbers. Majority of the routes are between 6a to 7a but still there is plenty for beginners and advanced 7-8 climbers. Routes vary in their length and style. Some of the routes are short, starting from 14 meters where as the longest routes are 3-5 pitches long. Grading seems to vary a bit. Some of the latest routes at the Al Pilastro sector seemed to be slightly over graded (easier than expected), whereas the older routes seemed to be graded as expected. Still crag is well done and maintained and it has great facilities. More detailed information is also available online at http://www.arrampicatalomasone.it/. Recommended definitely from high end rock climbers to family picnic climbers.
Additional tip for the rock travellers is to refresh after the rough climbing day at Val Lomasone. Lago di Tenno offers a great stop on the way back to Riva del Garda. Read more about Lago di Tenno from our last years blog article.
